A) According to a NAT GEO scientific project diving into extremely deep underwater caves called "blue holes" on the Bahama islands and extracting million year old stalactites which were sawed in half we/they seemed to learn that:
B) Climate change HAS occurred naturally since the earth's earliest beginnings.
C) That natural climate change did NOT happen over generations, as we wishful humans prefer to think, but rather IT HAPPENED VERY RAPIDLY in as little as a single LIFETIME !!!
D) The human civilization's contributions to natural climate change will then SPEED UP that already too rapid time frame and despite all these idealistic international summits HUMAN GREED, NATIONALISM, and IGNORANCE will act to prevent any serious reductions in emissions which are worsening global warming as we speak!
E) Maybe the Christian biblical prophesies (this author is not a Christian) are not just stories or superstitious fears afterall. A major part of those stony deposits forming dark rings in the stalactites was proven to be from MASSIVE DUST STORMS IN THE SAHARA DESERT who's iron filled sands reached to the Bahama island chain.
Maybe this is also part of
the terminal cancer that is "ISIS" or "D'ASH" ? Could this horrific political plague be the "darkness" which will precede the next series of MASSIVE SAND STORMS from the mid-east, earthquakes, tsunamis, monster hurricanes, arctic deep freezes covering whole continents, erupting volcano chains, floods .... etc. Every day we watch on our TV's the
barbaric brutality of spreading Islam overseas and the
barbaric brutality and regularity of civilian gun massacres in the USA and ask ourselves how this savagery can keep on happening in our once pretty world ??
Most probably it is too late or impossible to reverse the march of geological history and the decline of human civilization. So why not just keep on WISHING and hoping to find a handsome "Superman" who will fly over us and make it ALL GO AWAY just with his two hands and his super powers!
For me I need only take my "refuge" in the ancient and wise Buddhist teachings that
ALL COMPOUNDED PHENOMENA IS IMPERMANENT, SUBJECT TO CHANGE, EVERYTHING WE KNOW IS COMING AND GOING, COMING AND GOING. So let go of your "everlasting life" and enjoy what time (hours, days months or a little longer) that we may still have .... before the clocks stop and the lights go out for this chapter of the planet earth.
