The
BCBS-NC "geniuses" have inflicted upon
all HSA plan users a very stupid banking entity named
"BENEFIT WALLET" which supposedly helps members designate tax deductible savings for paying medical expenses.
Unfortunately, if you, like me, are
in no way connected to an employer or it's HR dept, than this so called "bank" is a total joke and a waste of your time. BW has virtually NO helpful customer service to aid users navigating it's labyrinth (low overhead costs!!) of confusion. When I finally DID manage to complete a medical payment transaction the so called
payment was simply taken out of my bank's checking account AND THEN REDEPOSITED into it again!
The
payment NEVER went anywhere near the provider's billing dept. and soon I received their statement showing, surprise, PAYMENT DUE UPON RECEIPT! Only a very stupid so called "bank" would
treat ALL member transactions as if they were payroll deductings to be "REIMBURSED" regardless of whether the member is part of an employee group or a private, unemployed account holder!! In addition, my ONLY INTENDED use of the HSA is to pay for MEDICAL expenses yet STUPID BW's pie graph now shows my past year's expenditures as 1/10 "Medical" and 9/10's "Other" (meaning taxable) how the BW goofballs arrived at that I'll probably never know until the IRS starts an audit!!
This mess is just one more piece of proof that the ACA is another SCAM engineered by the government 'employees' of the private health insurance cartel.
My advice, if your HEALTH PLAN is dumb enough to contract with BENEFIT WALLET for your hsa(see other complaints on Ripoff Report.com)
DON'T JOIN IT!! Join ANOTHER HSA offered by a financial organisation etc that you know and trust !!
