Reports that US Customs is arbitrarily filtering out imports it believes violate the Uyghur forced labor act may be
1) Another political stunt by Trump to "rule" while an Ex-official as he did with immigration law failure.
2) Proof that Customs is clueless to WHERE forced labor in China is ACTUALLY being used!!
President Xi has recently directed Chinese industry to "Focus on high quality products" What this actually means is OUTSIDE of those high value items LOW VALUE INDUSTRIES ARE FREE TO MAKE "JUNK" products not for profit generation BUT FOR BUSY-WORK (mass employment support AND PRISONER LABOR activity)!
In practice this means stuff sold by third parties on Walmart dot com, Amazon, Temu, TikTok, eBay.... can be nearly useless junk for "impossibly low prices" ALL OF WHICH MAY BE PRISONER MADE?
FOR INSTANCE: I just received my 2nd RED framed, analog wall clock from Walmart which not only fails to work again BUT TICKS BACKWARDS!! 🤣 (price $4.35)
Many cheap toy drones, and other simple products requiring assembly sold on these sites are outright scams or fail in less than 30 days!
China doesn't care because making them is keeping its unemployed low skilled workers busy AND it's political prisoners from Hong Kong and Xinjiang doing "productive" labor!!
While the junk pours into America's ports Dumb Trump & THE CUSTOMS department are blocking high value imports for no practical reason!
