When a traffic light in NC CHANGES from Stop (RED) to "proceed with caution" (blinking yellow arrow) the ARROW appears as a DARE encouraging left turning vehicle to
1) Look for oncoming vehicle traffic.
2) ESTIMATE the distance and SPEED of oncoming vehicle/s
3) When it "FEELS" safe to do so , make a left turn across opposing traffic lane!
4) Consider making your left turn QUICKLY to avoid delay of the vehicles following you!!
ALL THIS GUESS WORK COULD BE AVOIDED IF TURN ARROW ONLY BEGINS FLASHING WHEN NO VEHICLE IS IN OPPOSITE LANE FOR 500 FEET back!! (Laser type object avoidance detector on back of signal device!!)๐ฆ๐ฅ๐จ✋๐
