Speaking of who's responsible for poor nutrition in our cities Big box stores who claim to be offering better options, like walmart are STILL GUILTY AS CHARGED! I'm disabled and homebound so every time I try to order healthier food for delivery to my home I'm limited to only the junky, sugary, salty items (unless I'm willing to order wholesale cases of each product).
The website, unwilling to debate the issue, says simply "buy that item on your NEXT VISIT to our store" ! But what if I am UNABLE to walk, drive or get a ride to shop "IN STORE ONLY"? Well, says my local mega-mart, TOUGH LUCK - JUST EAT CAKE ! Maybe that is also a major reason why the store's isles are home to so many extremely obese, immobile customers who monopolize the electric scooters originally intended for the elderly and disabled.
Enormously obese people are probably shopping IN STORE struggling to find healthier options ONLY AVAILABLE to the ambulatory 'elite' who can sprint through the front doors.
The end result of this perverted form of marketing(impulse buyers wanted!)is 1) that the very poor, elderly and homebound are only allowed to buy the junky stuff which the store wants to rid itself of faster.
2)By forcing the immobile obese to shop IN-STORE they are adding to air pollution because their extra weight causes their cars (or public buses) to burn more fuel in stop & go traffic, especially older cars and trucks which low income people often drive and
3) Obese shoppers who could shop online take up mart-carts as well as cause them to be out of service more frequently therefore creating a disservice to other customers needing to use them t

Uggh OLIVE GARDEN "EXPERIENCE" no thanks.
My stomach is still recovering from OLIVE GARBAGE oops "Garden". :( I won a FREE GIFT CARD at a seminar raffle LAST DECEMBER but dreaded using it 'cuz I HATE driving to Wendover/Skeet club Suburba-Hell. I generally don't like CORPORATE Theme restaurants AND I'd heard Olive Garden was "disgusting" at best. However, I reasoned IT'S FREE FOOD (-gas wasted) and I'm usually undernourished these days so I'd better go take the "medicine" (Seminar sponsor was insurer BCBS of NC) and get it over with.
WELL, I WASN'T DISSAPOINTED , I'd been told it SUCKS and it sure does even worse than I expected. The bench seat was really low, like the ones in no-name Chinese buffets where too many 900 pounders sit stuffing themselves and killed the springs. So my table was about chin level. I asked for a phone book 'booster' so I could SEE my menu but "Oh we're sorry" uniform-corporate rules won't permit that.
Then the waiter "team" (waiter and bartender share a customer) forgot which order and gave me some stiff,dry, chicken primavera in generic sauce with absolutely ZERO green lettuce(white trash variety on-the-house with our "unlimited salad bowl" -wow what a bargain!!) Oh yes plenty of "unlimited" bread sticks if you enjoy dry, tasteless, unseasoned, (not a speck of garlic) "Italian" hotdog-bun style bread. I left one of my sample sticks "for the pigeons". Oops, I forgot there are NO pigeons in Suburba-Hell/Paladium shops. Then, when I finally discovered I'd gotten the wrong order, the ever-sweet, corporate-restaurant-waiter offered to prepare me the order I DID want to take home(at full price, of course= your fault , no discounts!!) OH Well I managed to mostly WASTE my $25.Gift card BUT happily AT LEAST I DON'T HAVE TO COME BACK UP HERE ANYMORE to "boost my nourishment" !!
Ever the optimist, there WAS SOMETHINGS to be HAPPY ABOUT in my OLIVE GARDEN-PLASTIC-THEME-BOX CUISINE "Experience" ! 1)The fruity, non- alcoholic iced beverage was actually ENJOYABLE, I drank it lovingly and then there was one guapo(latino?) waiter who's lindo cara I managed to see just twice, making me find my smile after all that gloom!!

Attn HOMELESS!! NEED FREE FOOD IN GREENSBORO? - Go to StunBooger Elementary!
The following is an excerpt of a letter to a friend:
-The least pleasurable aspect was starting my day in the cafeteria & waiting patiently for the little brats to divide the (free) food on their trays 50/50 between the floor and the garbage cans.
The resulting trash bags that I had to haul out to the dumpster were heavyier than ANY I'd ever handled anywhere. Probably close to 50lbs each! With each messy bagfull, I thought about our property taxes and how much of it goes to the school system. Then I thought about the cost of groceries and the many people in this country who are malnurished or just plain hungry on a daily basis and how the dumbshit government whines on and on about how it can't AFFORD to meet their nutritional needs!
At Stunbooger ES every day it's about the same routine. The kids go through the food line, loading up thier trays with everything in sight because the SCHOOL RULES FORBID THEM FROM RETURNING TO THE LINE to get anything else! They sit down at their tables & run their mouths so much and so loud that they DON'T HAVE TIME to put food in them.
Then they get up to leave the room and dump the food trays into the trash cans with large portions of uneaten food and drinks still on them.
Much of this food is pre-packaged in plastic containers, especially fruit cups, that're OFTEN NEVER EVEN OPENED before they go into the dumpsters! Whole fruits like apples and pears are routinely tossed into the trash like they're nothing at all.
Then the "funniest" part is to see the schools earnestly mounting these pious canned food drives for charity without any reflection on the irony of their daily actions.
Now I feel like telling any homeless / starving people in Gso. that it's ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT every weekday at the gcs dumpsters on Christ church road off Holden!
(or go to the back door of the school cafeteria and wait for the food to be wheeled out to you!!!)
So the moral of this story is: Disregard & Ignore your Government, they're mostly morons & idiots anyway, who've got no idea what they're doing! Now go raid those dumpsters!!
