The most important takeaway from the Gilligan's Island redux of the ocean Gate disaster was that the cause and effect was almost totally identical to the destruction of both of the NASA space shuttles (both under Republican administrations preoccupied with propaganda and P. R !)
The company's disinterest in safety and maintenance was painfully identical to both Challenger and Columbia failures . the waste of public resources in responding to the loss and search and aftermath were also similarly wasteful
The event underscores how the super wealthy of today are becoming so jaded and bored with their lives they are willing to toss millions of dollars into anything just for novelty and self gratifying thrills such as the skinny, super tall tower building fad going on in New York City now
Just like the ill fated Ocean Gate "sperm cell" these 128+ story skinny towers may soon become architectural disasters of equal magnitude when struck by unexpected calamities because, like the ocean Gate, city authorities may have not exercised due diligence in allowing and permitting them!
