Mass shoplifting and retail smash and grab is obviously triggered by inflation, Poverty AND MASS MARKETING particularly using smartphones and streaming media !
Most kids and teens of all income levels own smartphones WHO'S CHIEF PURPOSE IS SELLING STUFF BY CREATING A "DESIRE" TO HAVE IT !
NOW THE EFFECT IS FOLLOWING THE CAUSE it's not even rocket science!
China's youth also own smartphones en mass and consumerism is being encouraged by The State for the same reasons as here. THE DIFFERENCE: China has a very small underclass and it has thousands of police and cameras everywhere.
Plus it's mass advertising can be adjusted at will by authorities. There is no 1st Amendment in China. And no lawyers.
